Daily Hustler Testing Method For Particularly Unstable Niches

Back in February I wrote a post about one of my testing methods to see if I’m being scrubbed, shaved or the like.  This is another testing method I use in niches that are unstable.  I find (and i’m sure you do) that their are CERTAIN niches where the conversion rates are all over the place on a day to day basis.  In this type of niche, your best offer today can be your worst tomorrow.  Since it makes no sense to sit around and bitch about it, you need to take action.  Here’s what I do:

Since you’ve been in the niche long enough to know the conversion rates are up and down you probably know which offers/networks you’ve had the best luck with.

  1. Create a rotation in your tracking software of choice.
  2. Take the 2 offers you’ve had the best luck with and put them in the rotation.
  3. Find 3-4 other offers that you’ve either not tested or not had luck with and put them in the rotation as well.
  4. Let each offer get xxx number of clicks to it
  5. Keep the 2 best converters for that day
  6. Start all over again tommorow

I know that this seems like a waste of money to some degree as if you had a really good offer yesterday, it should be the best today as well, but in certain really unstable niches, I have had luck using this method to find the best daily converters.  Most unstable niches have a lot of offers which allows this testing method to work.  You obviously can’t pull this off if your niche only has one advertiser.

How do YOU handle these tough niches?

  1. Hey Adhustler,

Man you are up early every day. Real hustling there.

Truth is exactly what you said: “Since you’ve been in the niche long enough to know the conversion rates are up and down you probably know which offers/networks you’ve had the best luck with.”

    I think about that too.

Generally we all know Mondays are best traffic/conversion #’s. I also think that advertisers(owner of the offer) know this as well. So advertiser could let it go = “no scrub/shaving on Mondays”. why?

Advertisers want to show kick ass numbers on Monday so affiliates keep on pushing it rest of the week then get scrubbed/shaved. If Monday conversion rate suck, affiliates jump to similar offer.

Am I paranoid? When you are sending same # of clicks from same traffic source every day of the week.

Uh, the way I tend to handle those types of funky niches is to cry myself to sleep that night, and run away from them as fast as I can the next day.

this is what I do even in stable niches. if you look at rebill diet or biz op, you will see they have their ups and downs too that need to be monitored as well. Hell, even a well known performer can have their offer pulled or tracking messed up.

I always rotate the 2 best offers even in niches like biz op and diet to make sure if something goes down/wrong, Im still getting paid on the other offer as a backup.

I also throw in 2-3 more offers to test them out as well, but I make sure the top 2 offers get the most impressions.

  4. Adding new ones should be good idea as it keeps the dynamics on & gives higher expectancy.

Keeping new offers on is essential irrespective of stability. But unstable niches get more dynamic with such offers.
    GO ON DUDE!
