Yankees Vs Red Sox Courtesy Of MediaWhiz

For the last few months Media Whiz affiliate managers have been on an assault to find good affiliates.  To me they came off as overly aggressive and obnoxious at times.  When Josh from Media Whiz asked me to a Red Sox vs Yankees game I thought it could be interesting, so I went.  Turns out the guy is actually really cool, fun to talk to and committed to this industry.

We met up at the Yankees Tavern, hung out for a few and then headed over to the game.  We were both pretty certain it was going to get rained out but luckily the game went on (at 9:20pm – pretty late).  It rained the whole time but luckily, we stayed dry.  I’m still recovering from the Swine Flu so I am grateful for that.  There is nothing like the hostility between Yankees & Red Sox fans so the taunting was fun to watch.  The only thing that was super lame was that the cops came over to anyone chanting “Boston Sucks” or “Yankees Suck” and told them to stop.  If they didn’t; they dragged them out.  Way to show off your small penises NYPD!

Although the Yankees lost in their new stadium, I still had a good time.  A big thanks goes out to MediaWhiz for taking me.

If any other networks want to take me out for cool events, I’m down! 🙂

At one of the trade shows/conferences, some of the affiliates were talking to the Media Whiz reps about some offers and while the rep was trying to show the affiliates some stuff on their computer, the affiliates quickly noticed the fat shave box on the Media Whiz backend and the reps made up some BS.

I don’t know how valid this comment is nor do I want to put down Media Whiz if this isn’t true but there is no need for an affiliate to make up such a story either. I just thought this is a comment worth notating.

  2. @Steven – Interesting but I doubt you will be able to get any verification of whether this is true or not.
